Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to worldBOX (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”).

  1. In these Terms and Conditions
    1. “You” and “Your” refer to the user(s) of the Service and “We”, “Us” and “Our” refer to worldBOX having its registered office at 15, Belvedere Place, Dublin 1 and our servants and agents.
    2. “Courier Item” means the “box/pillow bag” purchased through this service and accepted for transmission using the Service.
    3. The “box” means the choice of our worldBOX product by the size, dimensions and weight only
    4. Dimensions of boxes :
      2kgs: 350 mm x 470 mm
      5kgs- 38cm l x 30cm w x 16cm d
      10kgs – 47cm l x 37cm w x 17cm d
      20kgs – 60cm l x 40cm w x 32cm d
    5. “Jewellery” means
      • Gold, silver or platinum or other precious metal in a manufactured state, that is to say, a state in which value is added to the raw material by skilled workmanship and includes any coins used or designed for the purposes of ornament
      • Diamonds and precious stones
      • Watches, the cases of which are entirely or mainly composed of gold, silver or platinum or other precious metal and
      • Any article of a like nature which apart from workmanship has an intrinsic or marketable value.
  1. Service: The service is available on Monday to Saturday excluding Bank Holiday and Public holidays. Transit Times stipulated are estimated, based on Business working Days Monday – Friday, Transit Time starts on the 1st day of export from Ireland.
    Dublin area and selection locations as per website – if booked before 8pm delivery & collection of your worldBOX is within 24 hours.
    Nationwide – delivery & collection of your worldBOX – If your collection/delivery address is not in the Dublin Postal District and Select Locations as per the website, we cannot offer you the same 24 hour drop / collect experience. However we can send you a worldBOX via a Nationwide carrier. Delivery will be made within 72 business hours. Once you have filled your worldBOX you can book collection via phone or website.  Collection will be made within 72 business hours.   International Transit times commence on export from Dublin and are subject to “Airport Security” & “Customs Clearance”.  Please note these are estimated and can vary from Country to Country.  If you would like to call us on 01-884-9590 we can explain further.
  2. Weight & Dims: The service provided for the delivery of pillow bags & boxes with weight and dimensions not exceeding and which comply with the limitations and restrictions on dimensions as set out in condition 1.  A fee will apply to any breech in this condition.
  3. The service is not available in respect of any item which is outside the maximum dimensions or weight set out in condition 1 or which contains any of the prohibited items set out in the first schedule attached to these Terms and Conditions.
  4. The sender of the worldBOX Item which contravenes conditions 3 and/or 4 shall be liable for all costs incurred in its disposal and for all loss arising from damage or injury to other Courier Items or to our staff or agents or equipment or for loss arising from delays or disruption to the service.
  5. An alternative solution to conditions 2 & 3 may be available.  Please contact our head office for options and fees applicable.
  6. Packing: any article contained in a worldBOX Item shall be adequately packed as a protection against loss or damage in course of conveyance and in particular:
    1. An article which is of a fragile nature shall be packed in its original packaging.  Where this is not available, it should be packed in a container of sufficient strength and shall be surrounded in that container with sufficient and suitable material to protect the article against the effect of such concussion, pressure and knocks to which all items are ordinarily exposed in the course of conveyance.
    2. You shall indemnify worldBOX against any and all loss that you may incur arising from any failure to comply with this condition.
    3. There is no insurance cover for any item deemed of a Fragile Nature.
  7. To avail of the service you must
    1. Order your worldBOX on-line and have it delivered to a valid specified address.
    2. 2 attempts at delivery are included in the initial cost of your worldBOX.  Any delivery attempts after that will be subject to a fee. Drivers may leave your worldBOX in a safe place if not available to accept.
    3. Obtain your worldBOX from participating retail Outlets
    4. Ensure that your worldBOX Item is adequately and properly packaged in accordance with condition 3 and/or 4 & 6.
    5. Ensure that clear local collection details are supplied on booking which includes a contact name, a full, clear address for collection with Eircode if possible. A phone number along with area codes must be supplied.
    6. Ensure that your Courier Item includes delivery details, prominently displayed on the front of the item which should include the intended recipient’s name, and a full and clear address for delivery. A clear phone number along with area codes must be supplied.
    7. Provide us with your name, phone number & email address which will be used to contact you in relation to any matters concerning the delivery of your Courier Item.
    8. 2 attempts at collection are included in the initial cost of your worldBOX.  Any collection attempts after that will be subject to a fee
    9. Payment for the service by credit/debit card
    10. Transit times are estimated and are not guaranteed.  These are subject to Airport Security and Customs Clearance
    11. Tracking: we do not receive up to date scans on all stops en route to the final destination on our website.  For further tracking information, please email shout@worldbox.ie
    12. Proof of delivery is available on worldBOX Web site online for a period of 1 (month) from the date of despatch and for six months by application to the worldBOX Customer Service Department. No proof of delivery is retained in excess of six months from date of despatch.
  8. Your worldBOX Item will only be delivered to the address indicated on the front of your Courier Item. Under no circumstances will your Courier Item be re-directed. Any non delivery will be dealt with as per clause 10 below.
  9. Incomplete delivery: Where due delivery cannot be completed, we may treat the worldBOX Item as follows:
    1. i. The Carrier may leave a docket at the address of the addressee indicating where and when the Courier Item may be collected. In the event that the Courier Item is not collected (unclaimed) within a period previously set out by the terms & conditions of the Carrier, the worldBOX Item may be returned to Sender or If the worldBOX is not collected within 60 days of return to Origin, it will automatically be disposed of. A fee may apply.
    2. Where the name of the sender cannot be ascertained the Courier Item may be retained pending a claim from the sender or addressee. In the absence of any claim within a period of one (1) month of the date that the Courier Item was first accepted under the service the Courier Item may be dealt with or disposed of at the discretion of the carrier.
    3. Any Courier Item in our possession which becomes offensive or injurious to any person, or to other items or equipment, or which is likely from its character or condition to become offensive or injurious as aforesaid, or to become valueless before it can be delivered or otherwise dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the terms and conditions, may forthwith be dealt with or disposed of in such manner as we may in our discretion decide, notwithstanding that any other provisions of these Terms and Conditions have not been, or have only partially been, complied with.
    4. Any worldBOX returned to sender due to no addressee available at the destination address, insufficient or incomplete address details, containing prohibited or restricted items or any other reason that is of no fault of worldBOX, may be subject to a fee for which the customer will be liable to pay.
    5. Any worldBOX returned to sender due to failed Aviation Security Screening or Customs Clearance refusal may be subject to a fee. To resubmit order will be at the current website rates.
  10. We reserve the right to decline an application for the service or to cancel, discontinue or terminate the service at our absolute discretion. In any such event we will refund any fees paid for the service but will have no further liability.
  11. If we are unable to provide the service any refund due to you will be made in the same manner that you originally made payment to us.
  12. Compensation for Loss, Delay and/or Damage:
    1. We accept no liability to the sender or to the addressee of any Courier Item lost, damaged or delayed in course of transmission using the service including and subject to pending customs clearance.
    2. No compensation shall be paid in respect of any indirect or consequential loss in respect of the loss, damage, delay, non-delivery or misdelivery of any item sent using the service.
    3. Any compensation paid may include the cost of the fee paid to avail of the service, the cost of the cover or packaging, and a small sum in respect of any other costs.
    4. Unless otherwise provided in these terms and conditions, the amount of compensation paid will not exceed €150.00 per box or €35.00 for a 2kg envelope being sent outside of the EU.
    5. Compensation shall not be paid for:
      • Documents of any kind
      • Any items included in the list set out in the second schedule of these terms and conditions
      • Loss of or damage to a Courier Item containing anything prohibited under the terms of the first schedule of these terms and conditions
      • Loss of or damage arising from events outside the control of worldBOX
      • Damage to Courier Items containing prohibited items or any article of any exceptionally fragile nature
      • Any loss or damage arising from a failure to comply with conditions 5 or 6
      • Any loss or damage arising from the seizure or interception of a Courier Item by any person or persons acting with lawful authority
    6. Any claim for compensation must be made within (1) month of the date that the Courier Item was first accepted by us under the service and must include documentary evidence of the value of the contents which must include  photo’s of the items damaged. Details of how to submit complaints and/or claims for compensation can be submitted via email to shout@worldBOX.ie.
    7. This agreement is governed by the laws of Ireland and is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
  1. Prohibited Items:

Any prohibited items removed from a worldBOX before export can be returned to sender for a fee. Failure to claim items within 60 days will be disposed of. A fee may apply.

  1. Perishable items:

Any perishable items declared and contained in your worldBOX will be removed immediately. We will deliver only to Dublin 1 – 24 postal areas only within 24 hours from receipt of worldBOX for a fee. After 24 hours – items are disposed off.  A fee may apply.  Any perishable items received via the Nationwide system are destroyed immediately. A fee may apply.

  1. Cancelations:

Cancelations may be subject to a fee.

  1. Refunds:

Any refunds may be subject to a fee

  1. Where the wrong size worldBOX has been purchased, a fee will apply to correct booking to the correct size.
FIRST SCHEDULE

List of Prohibited Items

The following definitions apply to this Schedule

  1. “Clinical Wastes” means wastes
    1. Derived from the medical treatment of animals or humans or from bio-research.
    2. “Infectious Substances” means substances which are known or are reasonably expected to contain Pathogens, and including infectious substances affecting humans, infectious substances affecting humans and animals, infectious substances affecting animals only, Clinical Wastes and biological specimens;
    3. “Pathogens” means micro-organisms (including bacteria, viruses, rickettsia, parasites, fungi) and other agents such as prions, which can cause disease in humans or animals.
  2. The following items may not be included in a Courier Item:
    1. Any item consisting of or containing any indecent or obscene print, painting, photograph, lithograph, cinematograph film, engraving, book or card, or any other indecent or obscene article, whether similar to the above or not;
    2. Any item consisting of, or containing any dangerous, toxic, poisonous, noxious or deleterious substance or any Infectious Substances
    3. Any item consisting of or containing corrosives, acids, paint removers, oxidising substances or organic peroxides, compressed liquidized or dissolved gases, dry ice, flammable solids or liquids, materials liable to spontaneous combustion, paints, varnishes, dyes, radioactive materials, living creatures, prescribed or dangerous drugs, mercury materials, organic or biological materials likely to perish in transit;
    4. Explosive substances of any type;
    5. Firearms, military ordnance, replica firearms, replica or inert explosive devices
    6. Sharp instruments not properly protected, or any article or thing which is likely to injure any item or equipment or person in course of conveyance
    7. Counterfeit or pirated items
  3. We will not accept any item for transmission having thereon, or on the cover or packaging thereof, any words, marks, or designs of an indecent, obscene or offensive character.

  7. Precious metals such as platinum, gold or silver, whether in the form of a finished article or not
  8. Glass
  9. Loss or damage due to delay, confiscation or detention by customs or any other authority.
  10. Loss, theft of or damage to unset precious stones, contact or corneal lenses, hearing aids, dental or medical fittings, antiques, musical instruments, deeds, manuscripts, securities, perishable goods (such as food stuffs), bicycles, ski equipment and damage to suitcases (unless the suitcases are entirely unusable as a result of one single incidence of damage).
  11. Loss or damage due to cracking, scratching, breakage of or damage to china, glass (other than glass in a watch face or a camera), porcelain or other brittle or fragile articles unless caused by fire, theft, or an accident to the vessel, aircraft or vehicle in which they are being carried.
  12. Loss or damage caused by wear and tear, depreciation (loss of value), deterioration, atmospheric or climatic conditions, moth, vermin, any process of cleaning repairing or restoring, mechanical or electrical breakdown.
  13. Confinement or compulsory quarantine.
SECOND SCHEDULE

Items Excluded from Compensation under this Service:

  1. Cash and/or Coins (whether or not legal tender in the State or elsewhere)
  2. Bank Draft
  3. Vouchers or Tickets with monetary face value
  4. Postage stamps
  5. Passports or Visas
  6. Jewellery
  7. Precious metals such as platinum, gold or silver, whether in the form of a finished article or not
  8. Glass
  9. Loss or damage due to delay, confiscation or detention by customs or any other authority.
  10. Loss, theft of or damage to unset precious stones, contact or corneal lenses, hearing aids, dental or medical fittings, antiques, musical instruments, deeds, manuscripts, securities, perishable goods (such as food stuffs), bicycles, ski equipment and damage to suitcases (unless the suitcases are entirely unusable as a result of one single incidence of damage).
  11. Loss or damage due to cracking, scratching, breakage of or damage to china, glass (other than glass in a watch face or a camera), porcelain or other brittle or fragile articles unless caused by fire, theft, or an accident to the vessel, aircraft or vehicle in which they are being carried.
  12. Loss or damage caused by wear and tear, depreciation (loss of value), deterioration, atmospheric or climatic conditions, moth, vermin, any process of cleaning repairing or restoring, mechanical or electrical breakdown.
  13. Confinement or compulsory quarantine
  14. Loss, damage or expense attributable to wilful misconduct of the Assured
  15. Ordinary leakage, ordinary loss in weight or volume, or ordinary wear and tear of the subject-matter insured
  16. Loss, damage or expense caused by insufficiency or unsuitability of packing or preparation of the subject-matter insured (for the purpose of this Clause “packing” shall be deemed to include stowage in a container or lift van but only when such stowage is carried out prior to attachment of this insurance or by the Assured or their servants)
  17. Loss, damage or expense caused by inherent vice or nature of the subject-matter insured
  18. Loss, damage or expense proximately caused by delay, even though the delay be caused by a risk insured against (except expenses payable against Clause 15 above)
  19. Loss, damage or expense arising from insolvency or financial default of the owners managers charterers or operators of the vessel
  20. Loss, damage or expense arising from the use of any weapon of war employing atomic or nuclear fission and/or fusion or other like reaction or radioactive force or matter
  21. Loss, damage or expense arising from unfitness of vessel, craft, conveyance container or lift van for the safe carriage of the subject-matter insured, where the Assured or their servants are privy to such unseaworthiness or unfitness, at the time the subject matter insured is added therein.
